| "OPUS 5" is a culmination of mixes I had never released
in published form. I was ready to move on to new tunes rather than recut
these, so I decided I would put these mixes out in the published world.
I have had several requests for 2 of these cuts: 1) I Think I’ll Cha Cha
(a.k.a. Chiquita Rita) & 2) Jungle Juice. These requests are truly
an inspiration to me. A special thanks to those who requested the songs
in recorded form. Before this work was even released (original release
date was July 2000) I was asked "what does Opus 5 mean?". In the Harvard
Brief Dictionary of Music an Opus is defined as the "work of a composer".
The number 5 would represent which work it is, "usually in the order of publication".
This is my 5th body of published songs so I thought OPUS 5 fit well AND it
relieves the need to give this CD some combined theme or meaning. So,
please enjoy as you will and remember that resistance is futile.
